Summary

Due to the implementation of Modification P272 ‘Mandatory Half Hourly Settlement Period for Profile Classes 5-8’, existing references to Profile Classes (PCs) 5-8 in BSCP510 ‘The Provision of Sampling Data to the Profile Administrator’ and the ‘Service Description for Profile Administration’ need to be removed.

Since April 2009, Meters in PCs 5-8 were upgraded to Advanced Meters capable of being read remotely and recording Half Hourly (HH) consumption. P272, implemented 1 April 2017, introduced a requirement for these classes to be settled using HH Metered Volumes (where the relevant Metering has been installed). HH measurements provide sufficiently regular and accurate data for profiling not to be required. For the few sites which were unable to upgrade to Advanced Meters, the regression equations have been ‘frozen’.

As the use of Profiling is no longer required to settle Meter consumption volumes in PCs 5-8, the provision of sampling data for these profiles is also not needed.
